Topic: P2P with a Nokia 6212

I'm tryng to comunicate in P2P with a NFC mobile phone (Nokia 6212): I've tried both nfc-initiator and nfc-target programs but the device is never recognized.

Any ideas why the standard command "jump for dep" doesn't recognize and activate the mobile phone?

nfcip-initiator have some interaction with mobile phone: if you put phone uppon NFC device and launch initiator example: nfcip-initiator, it will "hang" after sending "Hello World!"...
I suppose Nokia 6212 doesn't react because "Hello World!" isn't a standard message...

BTW, NFCIP have been introduced in r89 as experimental feature (thanks to Fkooman) so some work probably missed to be able to easily commucate with NFC mobile device.

I had the same output if I don't put phone on NFC reader, make sure that NFC connectivity is active on your phone...

This is my output (with 6212 on a Touchatag reader) :

Do you set it (the phone) in a particular mode?

No, I don't think so, NFC is just enabled.. I haven't the phone today, if you can't reproduce this communication trace, i can complete information with phone version and NFC settings on Monday.

Let me know if you need theses informations.

First, if you type *#0000# :

Nokia 6212 classic
V 05.16
29-09-08
RM-396
(c) Nokia
Variant: 00.00

Language:
V 05.16
29-09-08
RM-396
(c) Nokia
C

And NFC settings (in Connectivity menu):
NFC on/off : On
Content sharing : By confirmation
Cards availability : By confirmation
Cards passcode : Passcode not set
Active standby action : Vibrate

Are you interesting by another settings or versions ?

Re: P2P with a Nokia 6212

Thanks! smile

Unfortunately, I've the same settings but no response from the nokia phone...

Probably this is a PN532C106 issue which doesn't work with the current "nfc-initiator" implementation.

Hello,

I'd like to buy a Nokia 6212 to test with my PN533.

you've made good progress in your work to establish communication between two devices?

thank you

Re: P2P with a Nokia 6212

There are no native implementations, as file transfer is not covered by the current NDEF specs as far as i know. Your application has to send NDEF Data (as specified by the NFC Forum), so that other devices are able to decode the information. There are currently standards for URLs, Smartposter, SMS, Calls etc. - but you can definier your own "extended" NDEF and therefore provide a data container that fits your needs.
