Topic: mfd Reader/Maker

I might be wrong but so far google hasn't turned up anyway to make the 'mfd' file for mftool.

I tried looking at the example file on http://www.libnfc.org/libnfc/examples/mftool with a hex editor but I couldn't even find where it had the UID in the format?

I'd love a bit more help in understanding the format?

Much Thanks & Respect to Roel for a great API

It is on this page ! Have a look to "Memory Layout", in the 0x00 block : it starts with UID !

You can found more detailed is NXP datasheet: http://www.nxp.com/acrobat_download/oth … rev5_3.pdf

AKAIK, mfd are full dump of a mifare card, when you specify a mfd file for "keys.mfd" parameter; mftool don't care about anything else keys sectors (it just warn about different UID but it seems to doesn't affect the rest of process).

ermmm, my apologies, your right, it turns out I made a foolish mistake, I used 7zip on Windows and I needed to decompress the file again as is the case with some formats. Little did I know that I was opening the wrong file in the hex editor, I can see all the data clear as day.

Thanks rconty!

I will try to update this page this week, the information is a little bit "compact" right now about this tool wink
