Topic: getting to grips with libnfc for a raspberry pi project

Hello,

I am trying to get to grips with the libnfc, found a page that suggests building the quick_start_example1.c file using the line:
gcc -o quick_start_example1 quick_start_example1.c -l nfc

This builds with the following output (on my mac):
quick_start_example1.c: In function ‘main’:
quick_start_example1.c:19: warning: passing argument 1 of ‘nfc_init’ from incompatible pointer type

When I come to run it I get:
/Users/rasuly01/Documents/makerfaire2014/quick_start_example1 ; exit;
Unable to init libnfc (malloc)

Would appreciate any suggestions/pointers/weblink anyone has to help me with the above and basically start writing code using libnfc.
I am actually trying to use it on a raspberry Pi, having successfully compiled libnfc ion a pi and run the nfc-poll etc examples, I tried to find a python wrapper to use. Came across pynfc and nfcpy, could not get either to work, so now resorting to writing C code.

Any help on any of the above would be appreciated

quick_start_example1.c:19: warning: passing argument 1 of ‘nfc_init’ from incompatible pointer type

This sounds like the libnfc installed on the system and the quick_start_example1.c are not from the same version.
Make sure you've installed the latest libnfc on your system and you're using the latest quick_start_example1.c code.
