Topic: Raspberry Pi Unable to connect NFC Device

Hello,

i cant't connect my NFC Reader correctly to the Raspberry pi

i read several articles, where to copy the configuration File

i copied it in to /etc/nfc/libnfc.conf

after this i did not get the error message, that the config file was not found.

Here is my log File:

sudo LIBNFC_LOG_LEVEL=3 nfc-list -v

Has anybody an idea, what i could check?

Re: Raspberry Pi Unable to connect NFC Device

Perhaps the port of the reader is not /dev/ttyAMA0. Here's how you find the correct port:
1. Disconnect the reader completely
2. In terminal type dmesg and press Enter
3. Reconnect the reader
4. Type dmesg again and press Enter

Now you will get a list of events that happened recently. One of them will be the connecting of your reader. Look for something like /dev/ttyXXX0(note the XXX could be any letters). Once you find that in the libnfc.conf change AMA0 to what you found earlier.

Hope that helps!

Re: Raspberry Pi Unable to connect NFC Device

the output is the same...with connected reader or with disconnected reader

are these the interesting lines? i don't find anything similar
[    0.201787] Serial: AMBA PL011 UART driver
[    0.202233] 20201000.uart: ttyAMA0 at MMIO 0x20201000 (irq = 81, base_baud = 0) is a PL011 rev2
[    0.572324] console [ttyAMA0] enabled

in the libnfc.conf is the right value ttyAMA0

maybe the nfc reader is not the right one or doesn't work properly, or should i change the baud rate?

I am not shure if the reader is correct connected to the raspberry pi

SCK -> not connected
MI -> not connected
MO/SDA/TX -> TXD0
NSS/SCL/RX -> RXD0
IRQ -> not connected
RST# -> not connected
GND -> GND
5V -> 5V

Re: Raspberry Pi Unable to connect NFC Device

Yes these are the lines. I think you're right and the problem is the reader. Could you please post an image or a link to your reader? Although I'm not sure about the connection as I use a laptop and USB to serial adapter.
