This project provides a chip card interface device driver for the PC/SC Lite server deamon (pcscd). The driver provides a standard PC/SC interface to NFC devices supported by libnfc.

ifdnfc-activate returns:
Could not find Wrapper driver for libnfc
Cannot find a smart card reader
what is wrong?
and, is libifdnfc.so purely for serial readers?

libifdnfc.so *is* a serial driver for pcscd. It seems that you have started pcscd without ifdnfc, maybe you forgot to install ifdnfc. On some systems you also need to update your configuration using `sudo update-reader.conf`.
If this is all done, you can try running `sudo pcscd -f -a -d` to look if ifdnfc throws an error.
